What Our Hosts Are Saying

"

The weekend retreat felt rather luxurious both inside the lodge (very comfortable beds, quality linens, furnishings, spacious, light)... and outside - ahh you can't beat the views, the location, the sights and sounds of nature. Excellent hospitality and educational offerings! I'll be back

Attending a watercolour workshop at the Lodge was a unique and wonderful experience. The lodge is tastefully decorated, has charm, and an ambiance that makes you feel welcome. The quiet and beautiful location was the perfect place to relax while focusing and enjoying the workshop. The luncheon was delicious, the very pleasant company of other attendees was stimulating and enjoyable. There is no hesitation on my part in recommending The Bee & Bear Boutique Lodge to anyone who is looking for that special experience at an unforgettable, beautiful place.

Anja Van Der Heijden

We were a small group of photographers that came to photograph wildlife and wildflowers in and around Waterton. We couldn’t have asked for a better accommodation so close to Waterton Lakes. It was clean, spacious, jaw droppingly gorgeous, and the attention to details the hosts have thoughtfully provided were above and beyond my expectation. The beds were comfortable and the linens were high quality, the views from every window and large decks were breath taking. The kitchen was large and well stocked with everything we needed. The fireplace was so cozy on the cool windy evenings we happened to have. The property itself is beautiful, with wildlife wandering through. I’ll be back.

Harmony Wolgemuth

As a fishing guide who has led innumerable client groups through Southern Alberta, my experiences being hosted by Sophie and Lucy, have been uniformly exceptional. Their accommodations blend luxury with simplicity, offering a restorative haven after a day spent on the water. Their food and company is equally enjoyable. I recommend the Bee & Bear with the utmost confidence, knowing it elevates any adventure tour from merely memorable to truly extraordinary.

Thank you so much for everything you did to support our retreat, from the space, to the guest gifts, to the spa type additional touches to the space and quick response with communication and accommodation for everything we needed. It truly was a magical retreat - we didn’t have to worry about the space and could just focus on facilitating. Thank you!

Our Retreat FAQs

Have a question that isn't covered here?
We want to hear from you.

Get in Touch

What type of retreat guides do you work with?

We have worked with a variety of guides from all over the world including but not limited to wellness guides, equine therapy leaders, yoga teachers, hunting guides, spiritual gurus, fishing guides, writers, photography teachers, and more. If you are looking for a beautiful space to host your retreat, we want to hear from you.

Do you offer any additional services or activities that can enhance the retreat experience?

We are currently working on developing our outdoor spaces so they are as beautiful and functional as the lodge itself - imagine wildflower gardens, picnic areas in the trees, and walking trails. For the summer season of 2024 we are offering an outdoor dining experience with us, your hosts, while we cook a meal for you and your guests over coals. Please contact us to discuss details and pricing.

What is the capacity of your venue and how many participants can it accommodate comfortably?

Our lodge has 4 bedrooms, each with the ability for double occupancy (maximum of 8 occupants). Each room has a separate bathroom. We do have a local partner (just 2.5 miles away) that we can work with to accommodate larger groups.

What kinds of events/groups/retreats have you hosted?

Our primary clients have been fishing and adventure guides, yoga/meditation facilitators, and small groups seeking bespoke getaways. We are looking to expand into the realm of wellness and artist groups.

Can you accommodate specific dietary needs or preferences for meals during the retreat?

Yes, we can accommodate most dietary needs and preferences. If someone in your group has very specific dietary needs, please contact us so we can discuss further.

How accessible is your venue for individuals with mobility issues or special needs?

Unfortunately our lodge is not well set up for individuals with mobility issues. We do have one bedroom in the walkout basement, but access to the rest of the house requires the use of one or more staircases.
